This is a cream that is applied by hand, not a soap, and is NOT intended to lather. The razor glides close, smooth, without drag, and leaves your skin soft. I will miss my badger hair brush, but I find this the best shaving product I've used.

I use a Mekur DE razor with Feather Blades and find that Cremo Cream works very well for a smooth and nick-free shave. As the label says, the trick is to use lots of water. I start with a wet face and splash on a little extra water as needed. Only a small amount is needed as a relatively thin film provides adequate lubrication. I have a 30ml Nalgene jar that I fill with Cremo Cream for travel and this quantity lasts well over a week. It is also really great for shaving in the shower.

Read the directions! This is not a traditional cream, its designed to be brushless! In addition, the directions state to use a bit more than traditional creams--a quarter-size dollop versus the usual almond-size for traditional creams. Cremo is also very thirsty--you can't use this right out of the tube straight onto your face. It requires a lot more water when compared to traditional creams, but once you get the mix right, it's simply awesome, slick and lubricating. It's my go to travel cream for when taking a brush along is not an option.
You can get it to lather with a brush, but its a real challenge to do so by itself. However, its a great cream for making superlathers with!

This shaving cream is bad. It does not lather up well at all. After working to build somewhat of a lather the cream does not provide much lubrication as nicks, cuts, and scrape happen frequently. I had to stop after each stroke and reapply cream as it dries out quickly reducing what small amount of slickness it does provide. The cream does smell good. It has a coco butter sent to it.
