These blades I feel are slightly better than the Merkur blade for longevity and cut just as close. I get 6-8 shaves per blade on both (head) yet I find that around #5 or 6 I have to "work" with the Merkur blade. I use a Merkur 38C razor and have Drug store brands, Personna red and found all of them to be single use junk.
Feather blades are too darn sharp!! harsh shave every time.

In my experience, these are no better than the generic brand of razors I found at my local CVS. Try the Feather blades instead.
