New Merkur Progress Long Handle model razor retrofitted with a custom steel knob and calibrated for improved adjustment dial accuracy. The extra length on the handle provides a more comfortable grib and added weight to the razor.  Black adjustment dot indicator. Very classy custom upgrade to this fantastic adjustable razor.

    Gotta thank Lee for recommending this one to me. For everyday shaving the small gap settings are great for me. I get a nice smooth, nick free shave. The razor is easy to maneuver around the trouble spots on my face. When I skip a day or two of shaving, I just open the razor up to expose more blade and I still get a great comfortable shave. I tend to use very sharp blades and very little pressure on the blade against my face, as I let the weight of the razor do the work.

    I started using a DE razor about eight months ago and purchased a long handle Progress. I instantly fell in love with the feel and lack of irritation, and really enjoyed the flexibility of an adjustable design. Unfortunately, like many, I found the plastic knob at the bottom totally ruined the aesthetics. I purchased this and really can't find a single thing to be less than elated about. The finish and look is wonderful, and the increased accuracy of the modification over stock is greatly appreciated. On top of all this, I have never had a better customer service experience buying ANYTHING. This is a fantastic product, and there aren't enough superlatives in the English language to describe how enjoyable the process of buying from Lee's was.

    This razor is amazing, and the service Lee provides is above and beyond.
    The Mergress is a great razor offering a nice range of adjustment. You can adjust for a closer shave where you need it, and adjust to a milder setting for any sensitive areas.

    I love this razor; itis the first merkur i have purchased,, the first mergress- it is well constructed and very solid feeling in the hand. the most important thing, owever, is the incredibly smooth and easy, almost friction-less shave i have been having with it. and derby blades.definitely a keeper!
