    I've been using a Merkur 34-C for several years and decided to try a more aggressive razor with Feather blades. This combination can't be beat. Closest, most comfortable shave of my life. I'm also using a proper shaving brush and shaving soap, don't overlook this step and you'll love it!

    The screw on these will eventually pull away from the head plate, apparently due to metal stress. I have had several do this over time. Parts look to be pot metal and not easily repaired.

    I started out with a Merkur 38-C, which I still have and like. However, the 37-C Slant Bar is in a class all by itself. Get this one after you have perfected your technique. DO NOT fear this razor, as it will not cause any razor burn, nor weepers, if used with proper technique. I love this one..

    pair this with a feather blade and you cannot match the shave. period. apparently it isn't for everyone, but it't always worked wonders for my coarse, dense beard.
