The long awaited 38C is finally here! Modeled after American barber poles the heavy duty brass core chrome plated handle weighs a hefty 4oz, and has a 3.75 in. long handle, which is slightly shorter then the traditional Merkur Long handles.  Uses any double edge razor blades.

      This was the first razor I purchased and I highly recommend it. It has a good presence in your hand and the non-slip handle is a great addition, but it's best feature is definitely it's length. It's long enough that it will not be a huge adjustment from a regular cartridge razor.

      Gives a great shave, no nicks or cuts!

      I've been using a D/E for about 10 years now and was dangerously close to switching to a gimmicky cartridge razor, because I couldn't find the blades locally any longer, when I found this site...long story short I stepped up to the 38c with Feathers.....and I COULD NOT be happier.

      Even after one shave I can tell the difference...my face may not be all THAT much smoother, but the difference in skin irritation is incredible...there is none...which may have more to do with the blade than the razor, but I digress.

      If you're a beginner, I'd recommend a Non-Heavy Duty, as going from something plastic (and gimmicky) to something with this much heft may take a little getting used to. Other than that, the 3/8" shaft feels great in my hand, the non-slip barber pole grip is nice....and it's shiny!

    3. Great for Beginners

      I am new to traditional wet shaving and spent a lot of time researching a variety of products including soaps, creams, and razors. I settled on this razor based on tons of positive reviews I've seen across many websites. I am definitely NOT disappointed !! This is an incredible razor. The long handle and the heavy weight makes for a perfect balance. Being new to traditional wet shaving, I was concerned with nicks......not an issue with this razor. I've had fantastically close shaves using both Merkur and Persona blades....and I'm looking forward to moving up to the Feathers (but just want to get my technique down a little better).

    5. The Heavy Duty with a long handle

      This is the razor I started with. It's the same as the HD except a longer handle. I am glad I went with the longer handle. Many consider the HD the first razor to buy. While I don't have experience with any other razors, I can highly recommend this one.

      Feather blades are my favorite with this razor.
