This is a great razor blade but has a major disadvantage to other blades. When the blade is manufactured and cut, the corners are left sharp, and you will cut yourself with these. If you look at most other brands, the corners are rounded so they will not catch your skin.
I shaved with these blades for over a year, and they produce a great shave when fit properly in the razor, and last for a week/side.
However, after cutting myself with the corner a couple times and realizing that other brands don't have this problem, switching was a no-brainer.

I got one of these blades with a Merkur adjustable razor. Great razor, lousy blade. It felt like it was pulling the hairs out of my face instead of cutting them. I have been told that I need a sharper blade. These blades are not for me.

I bought a Merkur Futur and purchased a pack of Feather blades thinking because of their reputation for being really sharp they would be the best, that was before I read a few articles about blades on the Shaving 101 website. The Feather blade after using them three times always left my skin very irritated so I decided to use the Merkur blade that came with my razor and after two very comfortable and close shaves I am now a fan of these blades.

Rarely do I feel compelled to review a product, but...I really, really dislike these blades. I've used two packs now on separate occasions so I've given them more than a fair shot. They don't start sharp and, not surprisingly, they don't get any better with age.
I use a Mergress (modified Progress) safety razor. I've tried Merkur blades both in and after a shower, with shaving oil and without, with The Art of Shaving, as well as Truefitt and Hill shaving cream...it just doesn't matter. The shave is never comfortable and it certainly isn't close.
Fortunately, I've had much better luck with Feather blades so they'll likely remain my blade of choice. They aren't perfect, but they're definitely the best I've used. I'm also going to give Red Personna a shot. I certainly hope no other blade could give Merkur a run for the money.
Your mileage may vary. I certainly hope it does, anyway.

Despite what you read about this blade I have found it to be a solid, smooth and dependable blade that provides very good results. It may not be the sharpest or smoothest but it's overall ability makes it one of my regular picks in my blade rotation. Works well for me in both my trusty HD or Gillette Tech. I have gone through two packs (20 blades) and found them consistent from blade to blade. Of course, YMMV.
