The 23C is a popular fixed-head razor for those new to double-edge shaving. It is ideal for men who are accustomed to shaving with the longer handled mass-market cartridge razors. I tried several of the shorter,heavier razors when I started shaving with a DE. I didn't like them and always went back to a cartridge razor, but I got tired of the excessive drag from all those blades and the price. This was the last model I tried and I love it. The long handle makes an easy transition from modern razors and the knurled handle keeps it from slipping when its wet. Great starter razor!!

Hi I just wanted to let you all know Lee shipped this Gem to me in a timely manner and wow it's a great Razor.

I was using a Schick quarto cartridge razor which my beard would tear up one cartridge in about 2-3 shaves and it just was getting to expensive.

I need to Shave daily during the week since I wear a respirator while painting.

I never used a safety razor before but after looking up some information on blade angle etc and getting some help from the nice folks over at the Badger and Blade forum which I joined ( http://www.badgerandblade.com/) I got my first Shave with it last night.

I was nervous like a teen boy learning to shave all over again but I let the weight of the razor do all the work and took my time.

In all Honesty I got a pretty good shave for newbie I had a smooth no burn shave and I did not get so much as a scratch.

I'm actually looking forward to shaving now and Would not Trade my Merkur 23 c for anything.

This razor has a nice feel to it and the Longer textured handle is non slip even with foam flying around.

This razor is well built in my opinion and should last a very long time.

I would Highly recommend this to anyone wanting make the switch to a double edge safety razor.

As a side note I found the Merkur supers sharp enough to get the job done and very forgiving.

After 10+ years of regular disposable razors, I wanted to give the safety razor world a try. Wow, what a true difference this product has made. Zero cuts, super clean shave and excellent craftsmanship I know will last me many years. I will never go back to disposable razors!

My first DE razor was a Merkur Futur that I bought around ten years ago. That was my introduction to safety razors. While I adore the craftsmanship and quality of that razor I liked the 32c much more with the first shave. This razor is much lighter and gives me a better feel over what's going on with the shave. Many guys prefer a heavier razor, I do not. I have larger hands and this razor fits them comfortably and offers all the control I need to shave with confidence.

I chose this razor for my groomsmen gift and also for myself. All of us were disposable quad blade guys so the transition to the safety razor world was a bit scary. The Merkur 23c made it an easy transition. Has a nice weight and the long handle gives excellent control. Within a couple of shaves we were experts. Best shave I have ever had. We will never go back to the gimmicky quad razor world again! Lastly, big shout out to Lee for making the shipping a breeze and helping chose the best gift for my boys – thanks Lee!

This is my first saftey razor, so I dont have experience with others, but it shaves my face really well. By my third shave I got the technique of it down I think, and I had a very close shave with no razor burn, nicks, or cuts. I find that I only need two passes with this razor, one with the grain, followed by one against for a very smooth face.

I have been shaving with double edge razors off and on for 30 years, mostly with Gillette & Schick but this is the best razor I have ever used. I bought this razor about 2 years ago & have used it every day since. It has very good balance & gives a great shave. I love the simplicity of the 3 piece design.

This razor is a superb shaver! Merkur razors are recognized by their quality and german perfection. The 23C's long handle allows for great grip and handling. It is a bit on the light side, but it's one of the best modern Safety Razors out there

Very good razor. Used to watch my dad using his safety razor when I was a child and thought I would give one a try. I have been given compliments on how close it shaves by coworkers. You won't be sorry if you purchase one.

I purchased this razor over a year ago from Lee. I really enjoy the smooth shave and how nicely the razor rinses. The long handle offers me more control and ease of shave. I recommend this razor to anyone who wants an excellent razor, whether new to double-edge world or a veteran.
